How can an investor invest in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)?

Investing in ETFs is similar to buying shares on a stock exchange. You need a demat and trading account with a SEBI-registered broker.

How to invest:

  1. Open a demat and trading account with a registered broker.
  2. Select an ETF (e.g., Nifty 50 ETF, Gold ETF) and place a buy order on NSE or BSE during market hours.
  3. Once purchased, the ETF units are credited to your demat account and can be sold anytime at real-time market prices.

Unlike mutual funds, ETFs trade throughout the day and prices fluctuate with market demand and supply.

Note: ETFs cannot be bought directly from the fund house or AMC website. All transactions must be routed through a broker on the exchange.
