What documents are required to open a mutual fund account for a minor?

The following documents are needed:

Category Accepted Documents
Proof of Age / Date of Birth (Minor) Birth certificate, passport, school leaving certificate, or marksheet issued by a recognized board
Proof of Relationship (Guardian) - If parent: Birth certificate or school certificate showing parent’s/guardian’s name - If legal guardian: Copy of the court order and guardianship certificate
PAN & KYC (Guardian) Guardian must be KYC compliant and provide their PAN. In some cases, the minor’s PAN may also be required
Bank Account Details Minor’s bank account operated by the guardian (cancelled cheque, bank statement, or passbook)
Minor’s Aadhaar Card Required for OTP-based verification

Note: All the documents must be self-attested.
